ST. JOSEPH – Edward J. Getz, 52, of Stevensville, passed away Wednesday, Sept., 23, 2009, at his home.

Eddie was born March 18, 1957, in Wurzburg, Germany, to Edward & Jeanne (Moroz) Getz.

Eddie graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1975.

Eddie worked for Midwest Die Corp. in Baroda.

In his spare time Eddie was an avid outdoorsmen and especially enjoyed fishing.

Eddie is survived by: his loving family, parents Edward and Jeanne Getz of Stevensville; sister, Linda Rieman of Grand Blanc; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Getz of Culpeper, Va.; and sister Mary (Steve) Huizinga of Freesoil; and nieces and nephews.

Edward is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Sophia Getz and Anthony and Stella Moroz.

A private service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Starks and Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, with Father William J. Jacobs officiating.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
