Niles Seniors blank Constantine 13-0

CONSTANTINE – The Niles Senior Baseball All-Stars opened up Michigan District 15 play with a 13-0 win over host Constantine in five innings on Tuesday.
Rashad Harris and Riley Robson both had two hits and scored two runs for the All-Stars, which scored seven runs in the fourth inning to turn the game into a rout.
Also collecting hits were Brian Exner, Austin Searles, Dustin Bell, Nate Oates, Brian Fisher and Kelvin Tweedy.
Exner, Searles, Bell and Fisher all had two RBIs.
Bell picked up the victory as he went the distance, allowing one hit and striking out nine. He also picked off three baserunners.
On Monday night at F.O.P. Park, visiting Decatur 6-0 blanked the Niles All-Stars.
Niles finished with just four hits.
The Dowagiac Major Baseball Division All-Stars dropped an 11-8 decision to Niles Monday night at F.O.P. Park.
In other games on Monday, Dowagiac fell to Three Rivers 9-3 in 9-10 baseball.
Also in 9-10 baseball, Vicksburg Red defeated Paw Paw 6-3; Mattawan Gold defeated Niles 15-9 and Centreville edged Coldwater 13-10.
Tonight, Dowagiac will take on Mattawan Gold at Niles F.O.P. Park at 6 p.m., while Centreville and Paw Paw will follow at 8 p.m.
In Major Baseball on Monday night, Decatur 6-0 blanked Niles and Mattawan shut out Centreville 10-0.
Three Rivers was also a winner in Junior Baseball as it defeated White Pigeon 8-4, while Vicksburg knocked off Constantine/Centreville 12-6.
Tonight in Senior Baseball, Niles will take on host Constantine at 6 p.m.
In Little League softball on Monday night, Dowagiac was defeated by Constantine-Centreville 14-4 in Major Softball.
In 9-10 softball, Mattawan defeated Constantine 19-1 and Vicksburg slipped past Mendon 15-11.
Schoolcraft was a 12-5 winner over Vicksburg in Junior Softball play.
Tonight, Constantine and Vicksburg will play in Mattawan in 9-10 Softball, while Vicksburg will face Constantine-Centreville in Junior Softball in Mattawan.
Mattawan will also be the host of the Major Softball championship game pitting Mattawan against Constantine-Centreville.
All those games will begin at 6 p.m.

Eaton Park
Over at the Eaton Park Invitational, Dowagiac was defeated by Howard Township in the Peanut A Division 13-5 on Saturday.
In other games on Saturday, St. Joe defeated Niles 14-7 and Lakeshore blanked Howard Township 15-0.
In Peanut B action, Lakeshore edged Brandywine 20-17 and Buchanan defeated Brandywine 18-5.
Buchanan was a 12-0 winner over Bangor in Minor B; St. Joe defeated Buchanan 21-15 in Minor C; Lawrence knocked off Cassopolis in Little B; and St. Joe defeated Buchanan 5-1 in Little C.
On Sunday, Little Kings defeated Howard Township 28-1 in Peanut A play, while Buchanan defeated Three Oaks 11-1 in Minor B; Buchanan defeated North Lincoln 21-5 in Minor C; Cassopolis edged Berrien Springs 9-8 in Little B; Buchanan blanked Hartford 11-0 in Little B; Buchanan shut out Niles 2-0 in Little C; and Buchanan split a pair of games in the Pony Division.
Buchanan defeated the St. Joe Cubs 15-5 and dropped a 3-1 decision to Coloma.
In Monday night’s action, South Haven defeated Niles 18-1 and Dowagiac played to a 6-6 tie with North Lincoln in Peanut A, while in Little C, St. Joe defeated Niles 7-1.
Dowagiac and Lakeshore played to a 7-7 tie in Little A Division action on Tuesday night.
Tonight, Niles will host Schoolcraft in Junior Baseball beginning at 6, while the Major Baseball All-Stars will travel to Mattawan for a game, also at 6 p.m.
