Chieftain softball splits with Rams

SOUTH HAVEN — The Dowagiac softball team split a pair of Wolverine Conference West Division games with South Haven Tuesday.

The Rams used a four-run third inning to defeat the Chieftains 6-2 in the opening game.

Dowagiac rallied to game the split by scoring runs in the seventh and eighth innings to pull out a 7-6 victory.

In the first game, Mickie Kiggins doubled for the Chieftains.

In the nightcap, Kiggins and Riley Daly both doubled.

Taylor Hulett scattered eight hits as she improved to 7-1 in the circle.

The Chieftains are now 16-5 overall and 3-3 in West Division play.
