The Village of Vandalia received its “little free library,” last week from Marty Kaszar as a gift to the community.

Nearly three months ago, Kaszar contacted Vandalia Village President Beverly Young about the gift.

Last week, Steve and Marty Kaszar delivered the library and placed it in the lower parking lot at the village hall.

It will never be locked, so anyone can take books and they don’t have to be returned. People may also donate books by placing them inside.

According to Young, the Kaszars will keep it stocked for a year. There were 20 books loaded into the library when it was delivered and there are only six left as of Monday afternoon.

She added that the Village of Vandalia gives special thanks for the wonderful donation.
