ELKHART, Ind. — Timothy Scott Smith, 55 years, of Elkhart, Ind. and formerly of Edwardsburg, passed to his rest on Sept. 29, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart, after a lengthy illness. Tim was born April 21, 1958 in Elkhart the son of Philip and Doris (Taylor) Smith. He grew up in Edwardsburg and attended Edwardsburg High School. Tim was a truck driver for over 34 years at Maurer Industrial Supply of Elkhart.

Surviving Tim is his father and step-mother, Philip and Verna Smith of Elkhart and his brother Randy (Pamm) Smith if Edwardsburg. He has two step-sisters, Dixie Bloss of Elkhart and Kathy (Dale) Casto of Traverse City. Family who have passed are his mother Doris ‘Peg’ Smith, his sister Candice Smith Schwartz and his brother Philip ‘Flip’ Smith.

Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main Street, (US-12) Edwardsburg. The Service of Remembrance will be on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, where family and friends may gather for one hour before the service. Officiating will be Pastor Ed Ritchie of Elkhart County Community Baptist Church in Elkhart. Interment will follow at Carlton Cemetery, on County Rd. 4, East of Coounty Rd. 5, in northern Elkhart County.

Memorial donations may be made to; Haiti Missions (ICDM), P.O. Box 762, Intercession, Fla. 33848. (Envelopes are available at the funeral home.)
