A Niles hair salon will be shutting its doors at the end of the month as its employees pursue similar lines of work elsewhere.

Jen Hoese, owner of The Shoppe Hair Salon, 1226 E. Main St., said the salon would close permanently Monday.

Hoese has been operating the business for more than five years.

“We’ve had some changes inside the salon in the directions people are going,” Hoese said. “We are going to take this time to step back and move forward along the lines of what each individual wants.”

Customers can still receive service from Hoese and her stylists as they will be working at Hair-Xpressions, 1226 E. Main St., Niles. Hair-Xpressions can be reached by phone at 683-4667.

The Shoppe’s massage therapists are also relocating. They will be opening their own massage business, Essential Kneads, in the Majerek’s Place building near Salon Artistry on Broadway.

“I want to thank everybody for their support,” Hoese said. “It has really been nice being downtown and I’ve enjoyed being here because it is a nice place to run a business. I am sure someone is going to get a real nice home on this corner. It is a real happening corner.”
