Died: May 28, 2013

Terry Lee Gless, 63, of Cassopolis, died suddenly of natural causes, Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in her residence.

Terry was born Oct. 23, 1949 in Tokyo, Japan to James and Betsy (Hipshire) Vandygriff.  She married Ronald Gless March 7, 1970 in Niles. He survives. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerry Vandygriff and Cleeve Vandygriff.

Terry had a huge heart of gold and loved her family most of all. She would go anywhere at any time if it meant being supportive of a family member or someone close to her. If a child was participating, she was there. She would send cards for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, or just because.

“Aunt Terry” loved working with children. She was very involved with Sam Adams Elementary School, Cassopolis, working as a custodian, a teacher’s aide and a crochet instructor for the “Close Knit Group.” She worked the family farm and enjoyed deer hunting. Terry was a woman who could do anything. She was a baker and known for her pies, fudge and pfefferkuchen.

Terry will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Gless of Cassopolis; two sons, Greg (Brigette) Gless of Decatur, Texas, Gary Gless of Cassopolis; two grandchildren, Hannah Gless and Ella Gless; one sister, Betsy (Phillip) Rhode of Chase; and two brothers, Jessy (Tami) Vandygriff of Dover, Ohio and Harold (Suella) Vandygriff of Nappanee, Ind. and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the “Sam Adams Close Knit Group” payable to Cassopolis Public Schools, 725 Center St., Cassopolis, MI 49031.
