Niles to host marching band festival

The Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 6 Marching Band Festival will be held at the Niles High School football stadium beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Ten area high schools from the southern half of Berrien County will be performing.

General admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens. There is also a $15 family rate for parents and their children. Event programs cost $1.

Questions regarding this marching band festival may be directed to Steve Gruver, director of bands at Niles High School at 683-2894 ext. 323.

Here is a list of participating bands and when each is scheduled to perform: Bridgman (5 p.m.), River Valley (5:15 p.m.), Cassopolis, (5:30 p.m.) Buchanan (5:45 p.m.), Berrien Springs (6 p.m.), New Buffalo (6:30 p.m.), Benton Harbor (6:45 p.m.), Dowagiac Union (7 p.m.), Edwardsburg (7:15 p.m.) and Niles (7:30 p.m.).

Awards will be handed out following the final performance.
