Niles gets No. 3 seed, draws Tecumseh in quarterfinals

EAST LANSING – The Michigan High School Athletic Association has released the pairings for the 2013 Team Finals this weekend in Battle Creek at the Kellogg Arena.

MHSAAchampionshipslogoNo. 3-ranked Niles (33-1) was awarded the third seed and will face No. 6-seeded Tecumseh (30-12) on Mat 3 Friday at 7:45 p.m.

Top-seeded St. Johns (19-4) will take on No. 8-seeded Mason (30-8) on Mat 1; No. 4-seeded Warren Lincoln (30-4) will take on No. 5-seeded Allegan (30-5) on Mat 2; and No. 2-seeded Lowell (17-6) will take on No. 7-seeded Greenville on Mat 4.

The Division 2 semifinals will be held at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

No. winner of the St. Johns-Mason match will face the winner of the Warren Lincoln-Allegan match on Mat 1, while the Niles-Tecumseh winner will take on the Lowell-Greenville winner on Mat 3.

The Division 2 state title match will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday.
