Chamber lands ‘Ice’ funding

The Pokagon Fund is awarding project funding in the amount of $108,095.  Grants include:

• $3,000 to Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce to support its Ice Time Festival
• $2,700 to Lewis Cass Intermediate School District for Career Pathways Day
• $22,845 to New Buffalo Township for recycling
• $20,000 to Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra to fund the annual Independence Day Concert
• $15,500 to Chikaming Fire Department for a fire simulator trailer
• $10,000 to New Buffalo Railroad Museum to reprint 250 copies of “The New Buffalo Story,”  which documents the history of the New Buffalo area through narrative and rare photos
• $9,000 to New Buffalo Sports to purchase uniforms and equipment
• $6,000 to Portoluz for the Jazz on a Summer’s Day concert series
• $3,650 to New Buffalo Business Association to landscape city planters
• $2,000 to Three Oaks Rotary for its hat and mitten program
• $2,000 to support the River Valley post-prom activities
• $1,400 to Brookview School for the Children’s Film Festival
• $10,000 to YWCA of Northcentral Indiana for Domestic Violence programming in South Bend
