Lawrence E. Litherland, 50, of Cassopolis, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 in Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac.

Larry was born Dec. 4, 1962 in South Bend, Ind., to Donald and Dorothy (Hess) Litherland. His mother survives.  He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, William Larson.

Larry was proud of having served in the Marine Corps. He owned his own company, Exposure Advertising. Larry will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help others. He had printed over 10,000 “Random Acts of Kindness” cards that he handed to those he and others helped. Larry encouraged others to assist those in need. He was an avid reader.

Larry will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Hess) Litherland of Cassopolis; two sisters, Fawn (James) Hersman of Summerville, S.C., Sharon (Curtis) Creameans of Dowagiac and one brother John (Patricia) Larson of Culver, Ind.

Family and friends will gather Saturday  at 5  p.m. for a memorial service in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis, with Chaplain Terry Perkins officiating.

The family prefers memorial contributions to any Veteran’s Service Organization.
