Jerome A. Patridge II, 44

Jerome A. Patridge II, 44, of Cassopolis, died suddenly of natural causes, Saturday evening, April 6, 2013, in his residence in the presence of his family.

Jerome was born Sept.18, 1968, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Jerome and Georgia (Ickes) Patridge.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Anthony Patridge.

He married Heather Slagel Nov. 27, 2004, in Jones. She survives.

Jerome’s pride and joy was his black 1982 Mustang GT (with T-tops) originally owned by his mother. Especially interesting since Jerome was a die-hard Chevy guy.

He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing and camping. Anything he could do outdoors was a pleasure to him. He was an awesome cook, providing most of the meals at home.

Jerome loved his friends and his neighbors, especially if he could help them. He always adopted people into his family. He loved doing repair work on houses, especially kitchens and bathrooms.

Jerome will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by: his wife, Heather (Slagel) Patridge of Cassopolis; two daughters, Juanita Patridge of Buchanan and Reellan Patridge of Cassopolis; one son, Richard Patridge of Cassopolis; the first grandchild, on the way; his father, Jerome A. (Julie) Patridge I of Houston, Texas; and his mother, Georgia Mathews of Cassopolis.

Family and friends gathered from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, in Diamond Cove Missionary Church, 22820 Diamond Cove Road, Cassopolis, with the Rev. Charlie Keller officiating.

A part of Jerome’s remains will be spread on Keweenaw Bay of Lake Superior.

The family prefers memorial contributions to University of Michigan, Comprehensive Cancer Center, Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, C361 MIB, 1500 East Medical Center Drive, SPC 5848, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-5848 or Diamond Cove Missionary Church, 22820 Diamond Cove Road, Cassopolis, MI 49031. Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis. Please share a memory or a message online at wagnercares.com.
