Benefit Saturday for Niles man diagnosed with cancer

A fundraiser for a Niles man battling cancer will be held from 4 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Eagles Lodge it 34 Sycamore St., in downtown Niles.

Tim Griffith, 34, a Niles native, father of two and local handyman, was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma two months ago.

Friends and family are organizing the benefit to help Griffith with expenses occurred while fighting the disease.

The benefit will feature all-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad and breadsticks. There will also be a silent auction, bake sale, disc jockey and cash bar.

Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 4-14 and free for kids ages 3 and under.
