South Bend Civic Theatre screens Hitchcock thriller

Are you a movie buff, a Hitchcock fan or just curious what the heck the “39 Steps” is all about?

South Bend Civic Theatre hosts a screening of the original 1935 classic film, “The 39 Steps,” at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 in the Warner Studio Theatre.

Film director Alfred Hitchcock put his  unique stamp on the story of a man framed for murder on the run from the police and the real killers. The film showcases many of what would become trademarks of Hitchcock’s style: The innocent man wrongly accused, the cool beautiful blonde, spectacular shots and effects, diabolical humor and wit and suspenseful twists and turns provide thrills and chills.

Tickets are $5 and include popcorn and soft drink.

Reserve a seat by calling (574) 234-1112. Tickets available by phone only.

The live, onstage version of the comedy, “The 39 Steps,” will play at SBCT March 2-18.
