TWINSBURG, Ohio — Emily Foster of Watervliet and Stefany Foster of Dowagiac, 22, recently attended the 34th annual Twins Day Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio.

The event took place Friday, Aug. 6-Sunday, Aug. 8.

This event, held in the only city in the world named after twins, hosted 1,700 sets of multiples (including twins, triplets, quads, and quints) from around the world.

This year’s festival was the largest known annual gathering of twins (and other multiples) in the world, as documented in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This year’s festival had a western theme and participants were invited to dress for the occasion.

The festival also featured 64 different contests as well as a parade, food courts, children’s activities, live entertainment, business booths, talent show, fireworks, research and lots more.

This was a first for the Foster twins and, as Emily described it to her mom, “It was crazy awesome.”

Stefany said it was a lot of fun and “amazing to see all of the multiples — most of who were so much alike.”

The Foster twins spent some time in the booth where many researchers congregated to ask for assistance in their various projects.

The research was very interesting to the twins, who are excited to be a part of three different research projects (one from the University of Notre Dame).

Emily and Stefany are the daughters of Norine and Scott Anderson and Bill Foster Jr.
Grandparents include Ron and Pat Ganger of Dowagiac and Bill Foster Sr. of Keeler.
