Fundraiser tailgate party Nov. 5

CASSOPOLIS — A “Goal Line Celebration” Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. will raise money for the Cass County Council on Aging’s Dowagiac Senior Center.
The food and fun of a tailgate party will provide a theme for the event at the Mathews Conference Center at Southwestern Michigan College.
A treasure-trove of silent auction items will be offered, as well as several raffles. Music of the Fifties and Sixties will be provided by the Blue Water Rockers for listening and dancing.
Tickets to the event are $30 each, and are available at the Council on Aging, or from a member of the event committee.
Tables of six may be reserved for $180.
Make reservations by calling the Council on Aging at (269) 445-8110.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the capital campaign for the new Dowagiac Senior Center, which will open at 227 S. Front St. in early 2012.
The COA provides services and programs to assist individuals to age and live well with dignity and independence.
