Roundup: Edwardsburg blanks Niles netters

Host Niles was no match for the Edwardsburg tennis team in a non-conference match Tuesday.

The Eddies dropped just two games in sweeping the singles flights.

Edwardsburg was so dominant that it blanked the Vikings at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles.

In doubles matches, Niles was able to win a few more games, but the Vikings were still swept in straight sets.

Niles is back on the court today as the Vikings host a SMAC doubleheader.

Niles will face Kalamazoo Central in the first match at 1 p.m. before entertaining Kalamazoo Loy Norrix at 4 p.m.

Brandywine tennis

Visiting Brandywine played to a 4-4 draw with Berrien Springs in BCS Athletic Conference tennis Tuesday.

The Bobcats split both the singles and doubles flights.

Emily Erwikn and Rachel Riffel were winners in singles competition.

Rachael Szilagyi and Alyssa Bolen, along with Libby Moody and Shelby Fortune were winners in doubles.
