Blossomland Cup begins Thursday

The 2012 Blossomland Cup will kick off with first round action Thursday.

The St. Joe Kickers Blau will travel to Ott Field in Bridgman to take on P&R FC at 6 p.m. The winner of that match will face the St. Joe Kickers Premier at the Kickers Club at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Kickers Premier were the champions of the First Division.

Also on Thursday, the Wolverines will take on the Buchanan FC, the first place team of the Second Division, at Brandywine High School at 6 p.m.

The winner of that match advances to the semifinals to face the Tornados at the Edwardsburg Sports Complex at 5 p.m. Sunday.

The finals of the Blossomland Cup will be held at the Kickers Club July 29 at 2 p.m.

Also planned for July 29 is a 4-on-4 adult open tournament in the Kickers’ indoor arena as well as the Ford Soccer Skills Challenge, which will run from 1 to 5 p.m.

Sommerfest

The Kickers Club will host its annual Sommerfest over 30 tournament July 28.

Matches will begin at 10 a.m.

Scheduled to compete are the Kickers Oldtimers, Flint Sports Club, South Bend Internationals, MESL All-Stars, Grand Rapids Artesian Drillers, Kalamazoo Old Dog Tavern, Chicago JOM and Chicago Gruen-Weiss.
