Bangor man dies in Indian Lake

A Bangor fisherman died in Indian Lake Wednesday night.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports deputies responded to a 911 call of a subject in the water in Silver Creek Township at about 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 14.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with several witnesses who stated they observed a subject fishing earlier, but noticed the boat remained in the lake after he was gone.

Deputies identified the victim as Steven Crans, 58, of Bangor.

An autopsy will be performed. The incident remains under investigation.

Pride Care Ambulance and Indian Lake Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
