Niles sophomore Bella Rasler was named honorable mention by the Michigan High School Volleyball Coaches Association of Michigan.

Rasler was also first-team All-SMAC West Division as well as Class A All-Region.

She ended the year with with 310 kills, 352 digs, 277 points, 56 aces and 56 blocks.

Niles senior Kesley Barton was first team All-SMAC West Division and All-Region, while junior Lexi Smith was second team All-SMAC West and All-Region.

Sophomore Bre Love was second team All-SMAC West and All-Region.

“I am incredibly proud of my entire Niles varsity volleyball team and all that they accomplished this season: SMAC West Division champions, a final record of 43-10-2, and three weeks as MIVCA honorable mention in the Class A state rankings,” Niles coach Jenny Nate said. “These players worked extremely hard and dedicated themselves to their team on and off the court for the past year, and their hard work paid off. A special congratulations to the above mentioned players for their leadership and outstanding postseason awards.

“Their determination and drive led our team to various accomplishments this season as well as recognition at the conference, state, and region levels. They, and our entire team, have exemplified character, work-ethic, teamwork and class on the court, in the classroom, and in our community this season and in the past year. I loved coaching this team; they truly set a standard for the future of our program, and I’m extremely proud of each and every one of them.”

Barton ended the year with 572 assists, 328 kills, 60 blocks, 327 digs, 292 points and 90 aces.

Smith finished with 268 kills, 44 blocks, and 103 digs, while Love had 551 digs, 218 points and 26 aces.
