CASS COUNTY — A red sign placed inside the door to the Cass District Library’s Howard Branch said “Closed Until Further Notice” Tuesday afternoon.

The Cass District Library announced on Facebook Tuesday morning the Edwardsburg and Howard Branches were to be closed until further notice. The post said a staff member had been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.

“Out of an abundance of caution, all Edwardsburg and Howard staff members are required to get a COVID-19 test. The branches will remain closed as we do our part to help protect the community.”

The director of the Cass District Library and managers of the Edwardsburg and Howard Branches could not be reached by press time.

For those seeking information about COVID-19 testing, the Van Buren Cass District Health Department has resources available about free testing in the area. The nearest free test site is Rite Aid, 11 S. 11th St., in Niles.
