SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN — Cass County has lost another life to the COVID-19 virus.

Thursday, Cass County reported its second death as a result of COVID-19, according to numbers released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. In total, Cass County has 23 cases and two deaths. As of Friday, the county reported one recovery from the virus, according to the Van Buren/Cass Health Department.

Elsewhere, Van Buren County reported 35 cases, two deaths and seven recoveries. Berrien County reported 189 cases, 11 deaths and 113 recoveries.

Statewide, Michigan has 35,291 cases, 2,977 deaths and 3,237 recoveries.
