Enoch Elijah Swett, 68, of Princeton, Texas, passed away on Jan. 4, 2020, with family and friends at his bedside.

He was the world’s most beloved quadriplegic imaginable. He had been a quadriplegic for 35 years and would brighten any place with his presence. He was born Aug. 18, 1951, in Kalkaska, Michigan, to the parents of Robert and Amelia Swett and passed away while at the McKinney City Health Center in McKinney, Texas.

He is survived by two brothers, Samuel Swett (Julie), from Knoxville, Tennessee, and Tim Swett (Annie), from Riverside, California; one sister, Mary Miner, from Princeton, Texas; two sons, Robert Avila, from Mississippi, Noah Swett, from Princeton, Texas; three grandchildren from Oregon; one uncle; two aunts; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

Enoch was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Swett and Amelia Fritz; and two brothers, Phillip Swett and James Parkey.

There will be a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 18, 2020, at the Glenwood Seventh Day Adventist Church (corner of Dewy Lake Street and Glenwood Road). Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at the Clark Chapel, Starks Family Funeral Home in Dowagiac.

Many years ago, Dowagiac was his home. He had a special place in his heart for friends and family from this area.
