Letter to the Editor: I support Michael Majerek

This letter is to urge all Niles voters to support Michael Majerek in his re-election bid to the Berrien County Board of Commissioners.

Several years ago, I had the honor of filling the remainder of Larry Clymer’s unfinished term on this same board, following his passing. It was a short stint, maybe six months, but it made me grasp the enormity and complexity of the business of running a county. It takes serious commitment, dedication, attendance, and more than a working knowledge of budgets and finance.

Mike gets it, and he always has. He has served this community in so many ways over the years, as President of OHCC, and the Four Flags Chamber,  as board member with Lakeland Health Foundation, City Center Associates, St. Mary’s finance committee, Berrien Health Authority, NATS, SUDO Policy Board, and the Brownfield Development Authority.

Throw in his decades of being involved in his own business, and his experience with personnel, budgets and planning, and you have an individual perfectly suited with the expertise to continue moving Berrien County in the right direction, and protect the interest of county taxpayers.

We don’t always get someone with this deep and experienced resume to represent us, at any level.

He has represented us very well. He deserves our vote in November.
