Brandywine tops Bucks

NILES — Brandywine girls tennis remained undefeated with a 7-1 victory over arch rival Buchanan at Plym Park Friday.

The Bobcats swept the doubles flights and won three out of the four singles flights to earn the victory.

Buchanan’s long victory game at No. 1 singles where Maya Schuhknecht defeated Elizabeth Hartz 7-5 and 6-2.

Maigon Conrad, Megan Schmidt and Kimberly Solloway were the winners in singles for Brandywine.

Doubles winners for the Bobcats were Hanna Martin and Ava Moody, Olivia Whitney and Lauren Srmek, Carrigan Duffield and Alysa Marlin, along with Katie Stratton and Caitlin Stanner.

Edwardsburg easily captured the team championship as it scored 11 points compared to four points for the runner-up Vikings.

Flight champions for the Eddies were Hannah Ahmed and Annika Smith, Eme Edman and McKinley Nadia, Annie Marks and Ashley Smith, as well as Ava Padgett and Serena Rems and Paige Albright and Jenna McGann.

South Haven finished third with Buchanan placing fourth.

Niles was the runner-up in all six flights.
