Mendon falls to Pine River in Division 4 quarterfinals

KALAMAZOO — Southwest 10 Conference champion Mendon had its season ended by Leroy Pine River in the Division 4 state wrestling quarterfinals at the Wings Event Center Friday.
Pine River defeated the Hornets 29-28.
The Bucks (30-6) built a 29-22 lead Mendon and then forfeited the final bout as they advance to the Division 4 semifinals against top seed Hudson at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
In the other semifinal, No. 2-seeded Clinton will face New Lothrop.
Hudson defeated Onaway 75-3, Clinton defeated Springport 45-24 and New Lothrop defeated Carson City-Crystal 41-19.
