Richard “Dick” Morey, 79, of Sister Lakes, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018.

Dick was born on Jan. 2, 1939, to Charles and Mildred (Vandegrift) Morey in Grand Rapids Michigan. After graduating from Niles High School in 1956, he attended Michigan State University where he majored in marketing and played the trumpet in the marching band. Upon graduation, he started his career in marketing with Amoco Oil Company, where he worked for 26 years before retirement. On Sept.24, 1966, he married the former Darlene Wilson in Lansing, Michigan. Together they raised their family in Saginaw and Crete Illinois.

After retirement from Amoco, Dick remained active, being president of Michigan Lake and Stream Association and treasurer of Magician Lake Improvement Association. He greatly enjoyed working with Young golfers in the Dowagiac Juniors Golf League and being a substitute teacher for Dowagiac Union Schools. Dick was an avid Michigan State Fan, and was always cheering for his beloved Spartans.

Dick is survived by his loving wife Darlene; son Scott Morey of Steger, Illinois; daughter Stacy (Matt) Ebersole and granddaughter Lillian all of Tacoma, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
