Jane M. White, 77, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1940, in Manchester, Tennessee to the late Emmett and Alice (Walton) Elrod.

In July of 1964, Jane married John L. White at a ceremony in Niles. He preceded her in death in 2015.

Jane worked for many years at Sobel Plastics in South Bend. She enjoyed her flowers and her garden. Jane was known for hand making all of her greeting cards.

Jane is survived by her son, Greg White, of Niles; brothers, George (Shirley) Elrod, of Davenport, Florida and Floyd Elrod, of Niles; a sister, Colleen (Eldon) Stone, of Star City, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. White; siblings, Harland Elrod, Myrtle Harpole, Alma Ledbetter, Frankie Elrod, Paul Elrod, Kenneth Elrod and Fay Eytcheson and a niece, Barbara Odem.

A visitation will take place at 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home in Niles. Jane will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
