Dowagiac fifth at conference jamboree

ALLEGAN — The Dowagiac competitive cheer team finished fifth at the Wolverine Conference Jamboree hosted by Allegan Wednesday night.
Dowagiac scored 624.50 points to earn its highest total in school history.
“This was our highest scoring competition since we started competitive cheer at Dowagiac,” Dowagiac coach Jamie Whitfield said. “The girls have been working very hard and have kept their motivation up over a long season.”
Paw Paw took first place in the event with 757.96 points, while Sturgis was second with 694.00 and Plainwell third with 675.80 points.
Edwardsburg did not compete in the meet.
