Niles bluegrass festival to begin Thursday

Since 2002, the Niles Family Fun Fair and Bluegrass/Americana/Folk Music Festival has brought a variety of musicians and festivities to Niles.
This week, the festival returns for its 15th annual year starting 5 p.m. Thursday in Riverfront Park, 22 Sycamore St.
The free music festival will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 3 to 10 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The festival is hosted by the Niles Riverfront Optimist Club, Chapter 17493 of Optimist International.
The public is invited to bring a comfy lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the festivities and musical performances.
This year, the festival will feature Grammy nominated musical group Audie Blaylock and Redline.

• Goldmine Pickers, 9:15 p.m.
Activities:
• Carnival hours: 5 to 10 p.m.
• Girl Scouts will have crafts in the “Kids Zone”
• Maple Lane Wildlife Farm will feature a petting zoo, pony and camel rides
FRIDAY

• David Reese, 5:45 p.m.
• Box of Dreams, 6:30 p.m.
• Whistle Stop, 7:30 pm.

• Niles Police Department finger printing, 4 to 2 p.m.
• Maple Lane Wildlife Farm will feature a petting zoo, pony and camel rides
Quality arts and crafts vendors (no flea-market type sales), along with community commercial vendors will also be present.
Midway of Food Vendors will offer a variety of food options in the food court.
Parking will be available for cars, trucks, handicapped and bicycle
