Champion Niles had five players and coach Mike Vota named to the Division 2 All-District team, which was selected Monday night.

Vota shared Coach of the Year honors with South Haven’s Dave McWhinnie, whose Rams also were a district champion.

The Vikings had Cody Glick selected as one of three catchers, first baseman Jakob Huffman and infielders Bryce Lake and Austin Curran.

Drew Huffman was named as one of five outfielders.

Glick hit .345 with five doubles, a triple and 23 RBIs.

Lake hit .365 with eight doubles, three triples and 18 RBIs. Curran hit .379 with six doubles, a triple, a home run and 34 RBIs.

Drew Huffman hit .320 with four doubles, three triples and 20 RBIs.

Jakob Huffman  hit .414 for the Vikings with six doubles, two triples and 27 RBIs.

Dowagiac landed a pair of players on the squad, which is the first step in the Division 2 All-State process.

Erik Walker, who hit .397 with three doubles and seven RBIs, was selected as an outfielder.

Brenden Dudley was picked as one of five pitchers. Dudley was 5-4 with an ERA of 2.38. He struck out 61 batters in 56 innings pitched.

Edwardsburg placed three players on the all-district team, which is picked by the coaches from the Dowagiac and St. Joseph districts.

Mason Mitchell was named as a first baseman, Damion Pompey as an infielder and Joe Raab as a pitcher.

Mitchell hit .326 with eight doubles, five home runs and 29 RBIs. Pompey hit .336 with five doubles, a triple, a home run and 24 RBIs.

Raab posted a record of 6-3 with an ERA of 2.40. He had 82 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched.

Vota led the Vikings to a 20-15 record so far this season and has a career mark of 349-229-3.
