James Furner, 72, passed away on Feb. 11, 2016, at his home in Locust Grove, Virginia.

Jim was born on Sept. 1 1943, to Richard and Elizabeth Furner. He married Sandra Jones in November 1964. Jim proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy. He then worked for Freddie Mac for 21 years.

Jim is survived by his two children, Rebecca and Scott of Virginia, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brothers Thomas (Carole) Furner of Buchanan, Michael (Gayla) Furner of Niles, Patrick (Pauline) Furner of Berrien Springs, his sisters Elizabeth (Hub) Hesseltine of Niles and Mary (Pierre) Weber of Jacksonville, Florida.

Cremation has taken place with internment at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia.
