Athlete Showcase: Brandywine’s Jesse Lochmondy

Jesse Lochmondy is a senior on the Brandywine wrestling team.

 

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

JL: Going to state as a freshman.

What has been one of your biggest disappointments as an athlete?

JL: Losing by one point to return to state.

What has been a hardship in your life?

JL: Cutting weight.

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

JL: My brother, because he taught me everything.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

JL: I’m never nervous.

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

JL: Forgetting my shoes at a meet.

How do you tend to workout/train when by yourself?

JL: I work out in my garage every day.

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

JL: Football.

Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?

JL: My family — mom, dad and brother.

How would you give away $50,000?

JL: To some charity to help the hungry.

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

JL: The Cleveland Cavaliers because I would get a championship ring for sure.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

JL: Workout and eat food.

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

JL: Not eating as much as I want.

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

JL: I wish I could get a three-pound allowance after New Years.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

JL: I’ve been told I have a great work ethic.

What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?

JL: Wrestle Tony Holt after eating garlic. No.

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

JL: I saw coach Rex Pomranka run with us during practice.

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

JL: Working out with my brother.
