Gondrezick nets 44 in win over Niles

BENTON HARBOR — Miss Basketball candidate Kysre Gondrezick of Benton Harbor scored 44 points and dished out 10 assists as the host Tigers defeated Niles 70-36 in the SMAC West Division opener for both schools Friday.

Gondrezick has now scored more than 2,000 points in her varsity career. She recently committed to play basketball at the University of Michigan.

Benton Harbor (1-0, 1-0 West) led 21-6 after one quarter and never looked back.

The Tigers led 38-16 at halftime and 62-25 heading into the final quarter.

Jazmin Brann led the Vikings (0-2, 0-1 West) with 12 points. Emily Gaines added 10 points.

Benton Harbor also got 13 points from Jawana Young.
