BERRIEN SPRINGS — The Dowagiac volleyball team swept Benton Harbor in the opening round of the Class B District tournament at Berrien Springs Monday.

The Chieftains will face Buchanan in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Berrien Springs.

Lakeshore will face Coloma, which defeated the host Shamrocks 3-0 Monday night, in the first semifinal at 5:30.

Dowagiac was led offensively by senior Annie Ennesser who had 12 kills, while sophomore Taylor Hulett added eight kills.

Natalie Davis had nine digs for the Chieftains, who also got eight digs from Hannah Whitaker.

Kassidy Binns had 28 assists.
