Get fit, have fun at the YMCA

The Niles-Buchanan YMCA will participate in a nationwide initiative to promote physical activity and healthy living on April 18.

The annual Healthy Kids Day will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the YMCA, located at 905 N. Front St., Niles.

Healthy Kids Day is a free event, which is open to all youth and their families, will provide activities that fall within the core values of the YMCA, youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Lacey Peters, director of fitness at the YMCA, said the event will include bounce houses, snacks, Zumba, fit kids, hula hooping, a one-mile fun walk/run, face painting, games, crafts, story time with Miss Niles and her court, T-shirt giveaways and more.

“This is a free family event and everyone welcome,” Peters said. “We make being active and healthy so much fun.”
