Dowagiac improves to 2-0 with win over Comets

COLOMA — The Dowagiac boys basketball team outscored host Coloma 50-23 through the first three quarters on its way to a 67-46 Wolverine Conference West Division win over the Comets Friday night.

Both teams got off to a slow start with the Chieftains (2-0, 1-0 West) grabbing a 14-8 lead after one quarter.

Dowagiac led 30-15 at the half and by 17 points (50-23) heading into the final quarter.

Keontae Blackamore led Dowagiac with 16 points, while Harry Reed and Brandon Winchester-Jones both finished with 10.

Austin Rushing had a game-high 25 points for Coloma, which drops to 0-2 and 0-1 in the West.
