Free services offered at Cass County’s Project Connect

The Cass County Housing Continuum of Care is holding its annual Project Connect Outreach Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 from at the Squires Educational Center located at 725 Center St., in Cassopolis. Attendees are asked to use the Wolf Avenue entrance.

Project Connect is a one day, one-stop outreach event for those in need or looking to connect with a variety of services including education, health services, utility assistance, housing, senior services, transportation, food assistance, legal and much more.

The event is held annually in the fall and is sponsored by the Cass Housing Continuum of Care, which is a workgroup of the Cass County Human Services Coordinating Council. Services at no charge and giveaways include: fingerprinting IDs for children by the Sheriff’s Office and a special visit with K-9 Nellie, food box, blood pressure screening, and vision screening for children ages 1-17. Lunch is provided and raffles will be held every 30 minutes.

The Continuum of Care thanks 1st Source Bank, Dr. Jeffery Becraft, Cass County Bridges Out of Poverty, Cassopolis Public Schools, Helping Hands of Cass County, Keystone Place, Midwest Energy, SEMCO, Southwestern Michigan College, and United Way of SW Michigan for their contributions to help sponsor this event, as well as the Cass County Transportation Authority for transportation services.
