The Edwardsburg Board of Education held its regular organizational meeting Monday.

The board will continue to meet the fourth Monday of each month with the exception of July, August, November, December and May. It will meet Aug. 18, Nov. 10, Dec. 15 and May 18, 2015.

Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. at the district’s administrative center.

In other action:

• Approved annual retainer contracts of Thrun Law Firm, P.C., labor relations consultant Eric Delaporte and Miller Johnson Law Firm

• Approved compensation for the board of education, which is currently $600.

• Designated the superintendent as executive officer of the board of education and elections

• Approved board of education bylaws and policies

• Approved organizational memberships to the Michigan Association of School boards and the MASB-Legal Trust Fund

• Designated electronic transfer officers, who will be Superintendent Sherm Ostrander and Chief Financial Officer Anne Flautt

• Set May 31, 2015 for graduation, which will be held at 2 p.m.

• Approved the request for board members Amy Anderson, Doug Hall, Della Holdread and Doug Stickney to attend the MASB annual conference in Grand Rapids Nov. 6-9
