Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital honored its associates for their years of service during the hospital’s annual Service Award Banquet on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Dowagiac Elk’s Lodge.

Among the associates honored was Mary Ann Kidman, a staff nurse who now works in Quality Improvement and has served Borgess-Lee for 45 years.

“In the next 10 years, I will be retiring soon, and hope to travel and enjoy time with family and friends,” Kidman said.  “I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to work at Borgess-Lee where your friends care for you.”

“Mary Ann has given years of wonderful service and patient care,” said James Nemeth, chief nursing officer, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.  “She is a great team member and valued by all who she touches.  She truly cares how people are cared for and she represents the Borgess values that include service of the poor, reverence and dedication.”

Kidman wasn’t the only employee with 40 or more years to be honored during the banquet. Recognized for 40 years of service were lab technician Susan Matthews; Bill Roy Schuur, Maintenance Department; and Jean Valdes, a licensed respiratory therapist who works in Cardio Pulmonary and on the Med/Surgical floor.
