The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Fisheries Division will host a public meeting Tuesday, March 25, to discuss a proposal to purchase (through a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant) property along Dowagiac Creek.

The meeting will run 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cass District Library, located at 319 M-62 N. in Cassopolis.

“This property is a local jewel and will provide trout fishing access to Dowagiac Creek and protect rare habitat for several threatened species,” said Jay Wesley, DNR Southern Lake Michigan Unit manager.

The meeting will provide an opportunity for public comment on the proposed purchase.

For more information on the meeting or property, contact Jay Wesley at wesleyj@michigan.gov or 269-685-6851. Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for the meeting should contact Jay Wesley at least five business days before the
meeting.
