Theater group seeking actors for ‘Les Miserables’

Children’s Music Workshop’s (CMW) TeenStock, the young adult group announces auditions for its 2014 summer musical spectacular “Les Misérables:; winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, and Best Direction, as well as Drama Desk Outstanding Musical.

TeenStock productions are for individuals entering grade seven (fall 2014) through age 20 (at time of audition). Auditions will be held at four southwest Michigan locations: Monday, April 28 at Coloma High School; Tuesday, April 29 at Brandywine High School; Monday, May 5 at Berrien Springs High School; Wednesday, May 7 at Lakeshore High School. All auditions begin at 5:30 pm. Callbacks (as needed) will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 10 am at the Lake Michigan College Band Room, Benton Harbor.

Audition forms, information and instructions are available on the CMW website, www.cmwonline.org. There is a $65 participation fee for those cast in the production and financial-need scholarships are available.

Rehearsals and performances will be held at Lake Michigan College, 2755 E. Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor, Michigan. Performances will be held at the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center on July 18, 19 and 20.

TeenStock is the young adult division of CMW and is devoted to building better communities and citizens by educating its members to be a positive force that supports service organizations and local charities. TeenStock provides opportunities for youth to participate in community service all while honing their performing arts skills by producing full-scale plays and musicals.
