A committee has been formed in order to begin the process of appointing a successor to Cass County Surveyor Roger Stephenson, who died March 2.

The committee consists of Probate Judge Susan L. Dobrich, Cass County Clerk Monica Kennedy and Prosecuting Attorney Victor Fitz.

The committee met March 6 to discuss the appointment of a successor.

Candidates who seek appointment as the county surveyor should submit a letter of intent and a resume with qualifications to the Kennedy no later than March 28.

The committee will then begin the process of selecting the new county surveyor.
