Pipeline protester comes down

CASSOPOLIS — Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that the subject involved in the protest of the Enbridge pipeline has come down from the tree without incident.

The subject is not being identified since information regarding this case will be forwarded to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Pokagon Tribal Police, Newberg Township Fire and Ambulance, Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Cass County Road Commission.
