OTSEGO — Edwardsburg softball coach Randy Brooks picked up his 599th and 600th career victories as the visiting Eddies swept Otsego in Wolverine conference non-divisional play Tuesday.

The Eddies won the first game 8-2 and then completed the sweep for Brooks’ historic 600th win with an 11-1 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, Edwardsburg jumped out to an early lead on Otsego and never looked back.

Five runs in the first three innings allowed Edwardsburg Eddies Varsity to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Kaley Frank in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Eddies.

Delani Disher racked up three RBIs on three hits for Edwardsburg. She doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Becky Sarver looked sharp on the mound. Otsego managed just three hits off of the Eddies’ pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out one during her five innings of work.

Edwardsburg added three more runs in the top of the fifth. Kaylee Ryker’s double got things going, plating Teryn Williams. That was followed up by Disher’s single, scoring Frank.

In the nightcap, Edwardsburg used its power game to completely overwhelm the Bulldogs.

The game was decided quickly as Edwardsburg exerted its will early with five runs in the first three innings.

An RBI double by Williams and an RBI double by MacKenzie Creed during the first inning and an error, a steal of home by Breanna Bauschke and a wild pitch in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Eddies.

Creed had a busy day at the plate as she also homered.

Peters was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for Edwardsburg. She allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out two over six innings of work.

Williams, Creed, Peters and Bauschke helped lead the Eddies. They combined for seven hits and four RBIs.

Edwardsburg scored two more in the fourth. The Eddies scored on an RBI double by Frank and a wild pitch.

After posting two runs in the fifth, Edwardsburg again scored two in the sixth. In the fifth, the Eddies scored on a passed ball, bringing home Bauschke.
