Dowagiac second at Wolverine jamboree

EAU CLAIRE – Despite cold, windy and wet conditions at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course Friday, the Wolverine Conference West Division held its first jamboree of the season.
Coloma fired the first salvo in the battle for the division title as it defeated Dowagiac 162-167 in a match that wasn’t without a bit a controversy.
Dowagiac and Coloma would have tied at 162, but the Chieftains’ Andrew Wild, who shot 42, was disqualified for in proper use of an electronic device.
With the tie, the winner would have been decided based on fifth-man scoring. Dowagiac would have held a 45-46 advantage their and took the victory.
Edwardsburg finished third with 175, host Berrien Springs fourth with 180, Three Rivers fifth with 184 and South Haven sixth with 191.
The Chieftains’ Jordan Juday took medalist honors as he shot a 35.
