Kyle Miller, of Niles, has been named a recipient of Michigan Farm Bureau’s 2013 Marge Karker Scholarship. Miller is a junior at Michigan State University studying crop and soil sciences and looking forward to a career as an agronomist for a seed company.
“I’m excited to help farmers get the most out of their land,” Miller said.
“As an agronomist, I look forward to helping farmers become great stewards while taking on the challenge of feeding the world.”
Miller received the top chemistry student award before graduating in the top five percent of his class from Niles High School in 2010 before starting his undergraduate studies at MSU, where he has made the dean’s list three times.
His involvement in the agriculture industry and community have not waivered since high school; he has been active with the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, serving as Vice Noble Ruler, and the MSU Agronomy Club.
Miller has also participated in the Relay for Life and volunteered at a homeless shelter.
