Anthony Tyjus White and Derek Leron Bishop, both of South Bend, Ind., were arraigned on several felony charges last week and are being lodged at the Berrien County Jail.

White and Bishop are accused of stealing an unknown number of firearms from the Farr & Sons Gun Shop, 1302 Airport Road, during the early morning hours of March 9.

White and Bishop were linked to the break-in when police located a stolen handgun — believed to be taken from the Farr & Sons Gun Shop — in their vehicle during a traffic stop in Berrien Springs March 13.

White and Bishop later confessed to the gun shop larceny during an interview with MSP Trooper Investigator Jason Bailey and a Berrien Springs police detective.

Both suspects also confessed to additional crimes recently committed and still under investigation by other police agencies. Investigators continue to attempt to recover numerous stolen guns.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in Berrien County South County Court Friday.

The MSP were assisted by Berrien Springs Police Department, South Bend Police Department and Agents from the Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms.

The MSP ask anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of these stolen firearms to contact the Michigan State Police Niles Post or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers.
