Dowagiac Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 306 S. Lowe St. at 11:55 a.m. Thursday.

The fire department received a call of smoke in the area of South Lowe and Chestnut streets.

Fire was confined to the front porch and dining room area of the home.

No one was at home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time, according to Capt. Mike Mattix.

Firefighters were assisted by personnel from the Wayne Township and Indian Lake fire departments.

Also assisting were personnel from the Dowagiac police and Pride Care EMS.
