The Berrien County Bomb Squad has been called in to examine a suspicious bag or package left inside Chemical Bank at 407 E. Main St., Niles.

Niles Police Chief Jim Millin said a white male entered the bank and had a conversation with a bank teller at around 11:35 a.m. today.

The white male then left a bag or package inside the bank.

Millin said he did not know at this point what the man and the bank teller talked about.

Police have evacuated the building and set up a perimeter around the bank.
